Do not sleep on this place, it is outstanding. It is a Lao restaurant that knows they need to add the Thai name so it is not as scary to those who don't know. Everyone speaks Lao (and English) and know exactly the authentic dishes. We ordered Larb, Pud Kee Mao, Nam Sod, Massamun Curry. Every dish was a 5, no slouches here. To finish off, make sure to order Thai tea or Coffee....strong and refreshing. Or even better Beer Lao...not that many places have it. Side note- when you ask for Lao:Thai hot it is no joke....just like Laos. Go eat. Go sleep.

This is one of the best Thai restaurants I've been to. The restaurant like most people say is a hidden gem as there is another Thai restaurant literally right next door. The service was fast and we had a pleasant meal. We ordered the Thai ice teas and it was huge, and usually I finish all my drinks and it's not enough. The food came out at a good pace, we got the shrimp blankets as an appetizer and it was fresh hot and delicious, I only wish they gave us more of the sweet and sour sauce since it came with 6 rolls ! I got the green curry with chicken and it was absolutely delicious and filled with chicken veggies and much more. It was the right amount of spicy and creaminess I wanted to drink the soup. My boyfriend got the pad Thai which he loved so much. He loved the sauce and it was one of the best he had. Will def be back next time we are in town !

I so rarely give five stars and I don't think my wife was as effusive of this place. At first the lady behind the counter wasn't super friendly but she turned it around. All Thai or Laotian people in restaurant. Good sign. There is a separate Thai restaurant right next door which is interesting to say the least. Wonder what the story is there. Anyways the food was spectacular. I'm vegetarian and sometimes Thai food is a bit lacking without fish sauce but this restaurant doesn't use fish sauce. We got veggie spring rolls green curry and pad see you. Our picky kids ate really well too. Yum.

Pretty close to perfect. The ladies serving were so friendly, and kept returning to our table to fill our waters. Loved how you got to add your own peanuts and spices to your dish, although our food was so flavorful we didn't need to add anything additional. If we were local, this would be a frequent stop for us!

Who would have thought you could find authentic Thai food in Myrtle Beach?! Food was fabulous! We got the Larb with tofu, spicy fried rice and two different soups! We were so stuffed but had to keep eating! The staff was super friendly too! Hope to make it there one more time before heading back to Atlanta!!

This place is a hidden gem. The service was outstanding and the food was so incredibly satisfying. The waitress's recommendation was simply perfect. I had the chicken larb (a Lao dish) and my husband had the red curry with seafood. I am so impressed. Please go here if you love spicy food.

I haven't even eaten here yet and I know I'm going to like this place. The women who took my reservation had to be the kindest person I have ever made a reservation with. I'll post pictures as soon as we dine here. We are here and the appetizers have wowed us. Mostly the Tum Yum Soup that I haven't had this good since Manhattan.

Outstanding. Had the Pad Thai lunch meal. Great food and value. Locals coming in for lunch says a lot.

Found this place thanks to all you guys. Thank you! The women who were waiting on people I think were the owners that everyone raved about...The two sisters. They were so nice! Bf had the pineapple fried rice and really enjoyed it. I had the Thai Tea. So good and refreshing on a hot day. Great Chicken Pad Thai too. This place definitely keeps up with the five star reviews for a reason.

Food is 4-5 depending on what you order. Spicy soup is absolutely delicious. The beef salad is an extremely generous portion and the meat is well seasoned and perfectly cooked. A small side of Thai hot sauce comes with this dish and it is extremely flavorful. Service is 2-3 and if the ladies working are busy they can get quite rude. The Thai tea is a generous portion and authentic. Compared to most of the commercialized American food in the area, I'd deal with the bad service to have the quality food.

Went there because of yelp reviews. Definitely on point. Great food!!! Although my 2 year had a slight allergic reaction and he only ate white rice and pat se yeu. Peanut oil maybe? Just watch out if you or kids have peanut allergies. Regardless, great food. Def go back before my vacay ends

I came here for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised how great this place was. The wait staff was friendly, the food was great, and the price was far less than I was expecting in a tourist area. Although parking is a little scare, this place is in walking distance of the main beach strip, so I just walked to it. Look no further for a great Thai place in Myrtle Beach.

Looking for a good delivery place for dinner. Came across FB page and Yelp review for Thai Lao. Ordered Appetizer platter, Tiger Tear Beef Salad, Garlic Pork, and Crispy Duck. The meal did not disappoint. My 8 yr old twins devoured the appetizer platter. The crab Rangoons were a hit. The garlic pork was flavorful and the beef salad was spicy, tender, and delicious. We finished the meal with sticky rice and mangos. Highly recommend if you are looking for great Thai food. Major plus that they deliver.

Thank You Jesus! There is finally a good Thai place that reminds me of the place I use to love back in Denver. I went there for lunch with a friend. It was very bright and clean and we were greeted immediately. They had lots of moderate priced lunch specials to choose from and also had lots of other menu options. They serve alcohol which is definitely a plus considering the Thai restaurant next door DOES NOT. Then comes the food. The lunch specials are served with soup, homemade egg roll, and rice. All were delicious. The hot and sour soup was a little sweet for my taste, but they had it accompanied with spicy sauces and spices to balance it out to my taste. We each picked 2 different dishes one with noodles one with rice. They were both amazing. I returned a couple of nights later to bring my fiancé and it was again delicious. We were greeted with a smile and excitement although it was about 9:15 and they close at 9:30pm . We never felt rushed and were treated great. This time we ordered the dumplings and the crispy duck soup! OMG it was wonderful, best I've ever had! We also ordered the tiger beef salad. It was so good. I can't say enough good things about the food. Just go try it! They do take out too!

This place is a hidden gem! The Thai dishes are very authentic. The servers and kitchen staff are Thai (which is always a good sign). All of the food was very flavorful and well-balanced...particularly the Tiger beef and Red curry, which are probably one of the best I've had. To add to the amazing food, the customer service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. If you want an authentic and delicious experience of Thai food I would highly recommend dining here. You won't be disappointed.

Our first time visiting based on Yelp reviews and it was very good! My favorite was the Lao sauce. Would have liked more sauce on the pad see ew. Little more sauce on the Spicy Basil Fried Rice too. Coconut soup was good. Overall good food! Would come again.

This place is amazing, The food was prepared to perfection and the service awesome. We ordered the fresh red snapper dinner and it was incredible. I have never had fish served whole, it was delicious!

We ordered take out yesterday as we were craving Thai. The crab Rangoon was the absolute best we've ever had. The chicken fried rice was delicious. I got a shrimp summer roll and it was tasty. If you are craving Thai, look no further.

We tried out Thai Lao because of the positive yelp ratings and boy we were not sorry! We eat Thai food where ever we go and have family members from Vietnam and Laos who know how to cook the goods. Thai Lao delivered! Our 5 year old ordered her favorite dish and said it was the best she had ever had (pad see ewe). The fried rices and curries we had were exceptional. 5 star authentic Thai food in Myrtle Beach. Finally - the Thai ice teas were three times the size of regular glasses.

Good portion sizes but very mild flavours. I had to heap in the chilly sauce to make it flavourful. Polite and quick service. Not worth 5 starts by a long shot.

This place was Thai gold! Don't be misled by the lack of curb appeal. The huge menu and tasty food was the best of our week so far!! Red Curry chicken was spot on spicy/sweet and the kids loved their entrees too! Yummy!

Excellent Thai food, and they serve Larb ( laarb or laab some places) one of my favorite Thai dishes. I ordered the Tom Yum Noodle soup with chicken $10.50 and it was HUGE! I also ordered chicken Larb and it was also very good. Instead of actual ground chicken the chicken was simply diced real fine. Great flavor! $8.50 I also had a glass of Merlot ( served cold but actually it was nice because the cold wine helped cut the heat from my dish . I ordered it "extra spicy" but I didn't order it Thai spicy. It was a great amount of heat- definitely enough to open my sinuses, but not so much I couldn't eat my food. I took a lot home because there was too much to eat . I'm bad like that I want to try everything so I order several things and then up with leftovers .

I would give 6 if I could. My husband and me loved it so much that we went there 2 days in a roll ( I would not recommend that since you will get a bit sick of the same food). Everything is so yummy! Make sure to get the tomkah soup, even just the small portion. I am looking forward to go back for their thai tea.

Great place. We have business lunches there a couple times a month or more. Excellent food and the servers are great. Chicken Pad thai and the Thai Lao noodle soup are the best!

The food in this unassuming little place is outstanding. I had the spicy basil fried rice with chicken and tried the garlic pepper beef, the pineapple fried rice, and one of the noodle dishes. All were delicious. Portions were generous. Service was good, and the place is kid-friendly. We will definitely return.

Well my wife and I tried after seeing the excellent reviews. This place did not disappoint. Very solid experience and excellent service. Try the calamari. Both of us had the red curry chicken and it was on time. Give this place a shot. We went on a Friday night and the place was surprisingly empty.

So much developed flavor. From the proteins to the noodles and everywhere In-between. The sense that you're truly a guest in a home not a restaurant is how you will feel when you eat here. Don't judge a book by its cover - this place is incredible!

This place is awesome! Had a wonderful meal with friends. Summer rolls fresh taste from the garden. The only thing better than the meal was the service provided by June. Don't waste your time at other Thai restaurants at the beach. This is the real deal. Great food, fresher than fresh taste, Awesome service.

I can't help but to agree with the 5 star rating. I am always a little skeptical with a small number of reviews but seldom see a five star rating so we went anyway. So glad we did! In Myrtle Beach for a youth soccer tournament with my son and not excited about the many chain food options in a tourist town. So turned to Yelp! as always. Location is a bit random and decor simple but quaint and clean. We were welcomed warmly by the staff and they were attentive and quick. We started with a spicy chicken wrap and it was amazing! Very fresh, chicken was nicely spicy with fresh veggies - carrot, lettuce, think a little basil. Entrees were chicken pad Thai and a garlic black pepper chicken. Both fantastic, fresh and authentic. Ended with Thai dessert which we have never had - sticky rice and mango. Perfect ending, rich and milky rice paired with fresh mango. Great food, very reasonable prices and large portions (two people could share an entree easily) all made for a great dinner. I would recommend and absolutely come again. Wish they would move to my home town!

My husband and I are visiting from Chicago and got a wonderful treat for dinner tonight at Thai Lao. We were just walking down the street and decided to stop in for dinner. We had the Crab Rangoon, Dinner Salad, Pad Thai with Shrimp, and Pad Me Kao (a wonderful seafood dish with mussels, shrimp, squid, clams, noodles, and all kinds of crisp, fresh vegetables). It was all absolutely delicious and the service was excellent, too!

So, I was going to down grade this place (marginally) because the entree I discovered when I got "home" was not what I ordered, but it was something I'd spoken with the hostess about & I think there was a little language barrier issue. More importantly, it was DELICIOUS! I THINK I ended up with the green curry with grouper. So full of veg and fish & she threw in a sampling of sauces that stepped it up nicely. Blanket shrimp on par with the best I've had and I might become addicted to their super meaty dumplings! Most importantly, they were so friendly about keeping the beer coming while I waited! So many Thai places can be really snooty about that!

This is my favorite restaurant EVER when I come down to Myrtle Beach!!!! I do not even know where to start! From the service, to the freshness, to the efficiency...it is so perfect. The servers are absolutely lovely and the food is so hot and immaculately presented This place tastes like heaven. 10 stars all of the way!!!!!

After spending 6 months in Thailand i am very critical of Thai restaurants in the US. We started with a thom-kah and a thom-yum soup, both of which were quite good. I had the red curry with chicken and my wife had the pineapple fried rice. They offer a spicy scale of 1 to 5, of which i chose 4. On a scale of 1 to 5 i would have ranked it a 2 on the spiciness, so if you like it spicy, go 5 for sure as they are a bit on the mild side. We also had the iced coffee, which was very good and refreshing on a hot summer day.

This is the best Thai food....even better than the old place next door where they used to work. The old place was good too but this is so much better. I followed the employees over to this new location. The quality of the food and the presentation is excellent and the taste is delicious. I used to live in Thailand so I can tell whats good or not. I have eaten there twice since they moved and both times with visitors and both times they loved it. I can't say enough good things about it. Besides the food, the service is great. They pay attention to every detail. I love the soup and spring roll they serve with the meal. I also recommend the fresh spring rolls and the Green Curry with Chicken.

I love Thai Food. It is my favorite meal for lunch or dinner. The Thai Lao does Thai better than I have ever had before! Last night we went there with a another couple. If was a gastric masterpiece!!! Every dish was prepared to perfection. I can't wait to return to the the Thai Lao. I drive past four other Thai Resturants to dine at Thai Lao. Call me, let's do lunch. Or dinner...

Thai Lao is great, and is the best Thai food in Myrtle Beach. I've been in Thailand many times, and also eaten in some of the best Thai restaurants in the US. June and Lisa (the Thai co-owners) provide swift and friendly service along with the delicious food and nice Thai decor. Parking is easy in the front or rear, and the prices are reasonable. This sounds like an ad, but it's not. I'm just a regular and well satisfied customer.
